Current ExhibitionsSecond Saturdays The Exhibition Galleries of the Library are open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month. The Second Saturday openings allow the public an opportunity to take a second look or provide a chance to view the Library's exhibitions for the first time. The Library's William N. Deramus III Cosmology Theater is also open. Normal Library reference services such as research and circulation are not available on the Saturdays the Library is open. Admission is free. This Time It's Personal: Innovation in Your HomeSeptember 28, 2011 - March 16, 2012 Visitors to the second innovation exhibit will be surprised to discover the influence of technology in every aspect of their lives. From the mundane - such as the fabric in a sofa - to the laser light in a television remote, visitors will realize that a walk through their home is a walk through modern innovation. Exhibition galleries will represent rooms in a contemporary family home. Featured rooms will include a kitchen, living room, bedroom, home office, and garage. The curators will highlight items that people interact with daily and illustrate how these items are the result of decades - and sometimes centuries - of technological innovations. The exhibition will present journal articles, rare books, and patents from the Library collection that demonstrate the pathway of innovation for these household items.
